Introduction

Learn how to perform a blind transfer, consultative transfer and direct-to-voicemail transfer using your Polycom VVX 411, 500/501, or 600/601 HD phone.

Types of Transfers

Warm (Consultative) transfer: You announce the call to the recipient prior to transferring the call. It also allows you to provide key details to the recipient before the call is connected. Once you transfer the call, all three parties can speak together, or you can end the call on your phone without disconnecting the transferred parties. This is the default transfer type.

Cold (Blind) transfer: Transfer a call to someone else without announcing the call first.

Direct-to-voicemail transfer: Transfer a call directly to another user’s voicemail.

Perform a warm transfer

  1. During a call, press Transfer. The caller is automatically placed on hold.
  2. Dial the number, extension or choose a contact from your call list or directory and press #.
  3. When the receiving party answers, announce the call.
  4. Press Transfer to complete the transfer.

Note: A warm transfer will display the extension of the person transferring the call to the recipient.

Perform a cold transfer

  1. During a call, press Transfer.
  2. Press Blind.
  3. Dial the number, extension or choose a contact from your call list or directory and then press #.

Perform a direct-to-voicemail transfer

  1. During a call, press Transfer.
  2. Press *97 and dial the extension of the transfer. Then press transfer.
  3. You will receive a confirmation message.
